Thank-you for making the perfect family board. We took our SB SUP to the beach yesterday. It was 8knots and tiny waves. Kids (12 and 8 yrs) spent 3 hours mainly windsurfing. Finally got some value from the expensive kiddies rig I bought a year ago as the SUP has such great glide that they get going really easily. Board long enough that the 12 yr old can sit on it when its the 8yr old's go as the little lad gets scared going too far out by himself. Then when they got tired we took the rig off and they had a paddle, even catching some small waves.
Finally after they were exhausted (and went off skim boarding) I had a half hour paddle. The centre fin box in the bottom is deadly, it makes all the difference between an SUP and a great summer board. We all know that we will get on the water every time we can get to the beach, how good is that? |

Is the SUP board the perfect kids board, or is the kids board the perfect SUP board?

Great post!
I think it just illustrates how early we are in SUP design refinement now. Also, how it does not take specialized equipment to get out there and have fun... |
