I have narrowed down my search for a new board to either the K14 or the K15 I just have some questions regarding the two.
1. Does the K14 come with a mast track or place to attach a mast? 2. Does the K14 come with tie downs? 3. How do the two board compare in flat water and in the ocean? I am hoping to use this board for mostly flat water paddling inland with the occasional trip to the ocean for a downwinder. I can also envision a fun race and I would like the opportunity to take it for a multi day SUP camping / paddle. The K15 would seem the choice from what I have read but at 150 lbs I wonder if the K14 would not not also do. I currently do a lot of long distance paddling so the 24" width of the K14 is pretty appealing as well. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Duncan |

When you say camping, I would say K15. Loads of space, stability and also still a good tempo you can paddle. (most guys at the SUP 11-City tour paddled an K 15 www.supholland.com check out the site - surely distance paddling :-)).
As far as I know, both boards are made for flat water paddling. How ever, I have experienced some rougher water with the K15. Some 14 footers also enter for open water races. (I have not tested the K14 as yet) For sure with 24inch width, once you're going, the K14 is going faster. And... most races also allow 12'6" and 14" classes. The 24inch width does require a better balance - but that's also a matter of 'getting used to the board'. Seems like both boards have great qualities going for you. Which qualities should way more in what you want to do. I am not to sure what the K14 comes with - tie downs or mast track.. hope someone else does. Hope this info helps! Anne-Marie Quote:

Thanks Anne-Marie for your response. Perhaps I will get the K15 for myself and the K14 for my son that would solve the problem of having to decide ;-)
BTW you don't happen to know the weight differences between the two constructions do you? I check out the 11 city tour site you gave me. It looks like a lot of fun. I am doing something similar myself with three friends, we are paddling 140 kms over three days to raise funds for our local Children's Hospital. You can check it out at http://soulrider.ca/Soulrider/Stand_Up_for_CHEO.html. This is our first year but we hope to grow this event as well to include many participants and perhaps even some racing. Thanks again Duncan |

Hi Duncan,
Wow, your mission looks awesome! Very cool. If you want, send me the logo of your event to me: funnyanne@me.com Also send me the link, so I can post it on the 'news page' of my event. You dont wanna come train with your team a week before in Holland? :-))) On the board choice... there you go... if you cant make up your mind 'or or'.... you just do 'and and'... my strategy I ended up since I was born so I haer.. haha. Board constructions I am not to sure, I will ask and find out for you. Good luck with all, Anne-Marie BTW you don't happen to know the weight differences between the two constructions do you? Hi Anne-Marie, I sent you the logo to the e-mail you gave. Please confirm whether you received it. The more we look at your event the more we start to check out airline prices for next year. Good luck and thanks again for the feedback.
