If I had been supplied a board by a main dealer without the air hole valve in it I would 100% be asking for a refund. Its a complete load of rubbish saying that its fine to use without the valve in.

There is no doubt your board will have taken in water and it will weigh more as a result and potentially damaged the pine layer in the construction. The valve is only to be removed when traveling because of air pressure in the hold of a plane or leaving it in a very hot environment so it doesnt go pop.

Any main dealer selling a board without the valve in is clearly neglegent and I wouldnt buy a board from them, incidently which shop was it?

Make sure you get either a new board (or ideally a refund so you can buy one somewhere else).

Just my two pennies worth, it annoys me when shops give poor service, especially when purchasing such an expensive item,

Cheers

Hi guys,

I just bought a new 2010 Element Blue Touch. I couldn't find the air valve on the board. The documentation says that it should be just besides the mast insert. The Blue Touch doesn't have, but I looked around the handle carefully and couldn't find anything. Is it normal? Are the Blue Touch not fitted with an air valve?

Thanks

Hi Steph. I dont think your Blue Touch would have a vent? If you looked and couldnt see anything then it probably doesnt have one. You cant miss it. It has a big philips head screw and roughly about 10mm in diametre.

Thanks Greenroom. After close inspection, it's clear that it doesn't have a valve. Now, the question is: is it normal or is it a defect? It's written in the catalog that the Camo can be fitted with a valve. Does that mean that none except the Camo can be fitted with a valve, or that all technologies come with a valve as a standard except the Camo which has it as an option?

Thanks!

Hi Steph, The air valve is part of the mast foot insert. The Blue Touch boards don't have a mast insert so it doesn' t have a valve.

Enjoy your board
