Starboard SUP's at Italy's 2007 RipCurl Pro Banzai Rolling ocean waves were a plenty at seaside near Rome last week as Italy held the finals of their Surfing Championship. After waiting for the right condition Novemebr 14 saw the orgainsers scramble and set up the course and calling in all the riders. The event also included SUP demonstrations with boards available for trial, giving the short wave board riders the opportunity to try the original Hawaiian longboarding experience in Italy. The surf event delivered consistent waves ranging from 2 - 2.5 metres, ideal for both long and short boarder's a like. The contest director Marcianò Ale, assisted by his deputy Count Danilo, commented" Impressive and unexpected continuity of the waves throughout the contest allowed all athletes to compete under the same conditions.
