Starboard Day 2008 - Paddle Board Racing
In the splendid scenery of the Gulf of Gaeta, on the beaches of Formia at the Starboard Surf centre
Maremoto Vindicio.
There was a huge participation from the surfers of Lazio and Campania. Both men and women of all ages competed. In total there was over 60 participants and racing went on through out the whole course of the day.
In each heat there were four people racing and the top two places would advance to the next heat. After many heats it came down to four finalists, they were very tired but they still battled on until the over all winner was announced. The women battled just as hard as the men, and there were many exciting races.
Many thanks to the Starboard Surf Centre for helping organising the event they did a great job and everyone had a great day. The paddle board Races were a great success considering that all the participants were all novices, and everyone was really excited about the new world they entered of paddle boarding.
